Experience

Prock Marine Company 1974 to Present
Currently responsible for day to day operations of 4 barge crews, a land crews, mechanic shop and fabrication shop.

1984 – 2005

Kevin worked as a foreman/superintendent on multiple marine and bridge projects.

Bridges

Rte 9 and 5 Bridge over the Connecticut River, Brattleboro VT 1985
Owner Vermont DOT Prock was Subcontractor to Bridge Construction
Drove 45 to 50 H-piles for the abutments and center pier
Center pier required construction of a sheet pile cell with a concrete seal and H-piles.
Kevin worked as a working superintendent, crane operator and barge foreman. The limited access forced the use of a sectional barge with a 40 ton crane adding to the complexity of the project. Kevin and his crew were able to overcome the limits of the small crane and finish Prock’s scope on time.

Jefferson Bridge, Jefferson, ME 1991
Owner MDOT
Kevin was the superintendent for the project which required anywhere from 5 to 9 person crews. The bridge project, which was in a relatively tight neighborhood setting, involved relocating the existing bridge for temporary maintenance of traffic and constructing a new bridge. The new bridge was made up of concrete abutments on H-piles with a precast superstructure. Kevin and Prock Marine were able to work closely with the MDOT and the neighbors to provide a quality product with very little disturbance to the community.

Additional bridge projects include:

Substructure piles Farmington, ME bridge over the Sandy River 1986
Bridge Replacement Lincoln, ME 1988
Abutments, Pier rehab, Superstructure replacement, Frankfort Bridge, Frankfort, ME 1989

Marine

Estes Head Cargo Terminal, Eastport, ME 1997-1998
Owner MDOT, Subcontractor to Fundy Corp.
Prock Marine Drove all the 30″ pipe piles and fender piles as well as installed all the rock anchors and pile pins for this deep water dock facility. Kevin worked as superintendent overseeing two barge crews. Kevin worked hands on driving 100 ft.+ 30″ diameter pipe piles to ledge. This project was made more difficult due the deep water and the 25 to 30 tide cycle. Kevin’s crew was able to stay ahead of the Fundy crew while working in one of the most difficult marine environments on the Maine Coast.

Additional Marine projects include:

Heavy H-pile installation at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard 1998
Dolphin Replacement at Webber Oil, Bucksport, ME 1994
